Ted D. Ansel, 65, of Zanesville died at 6:45 PM Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Genesis Hospital CCU after a sudden illness.
He was born January 23, 1958 in Zanesville Ohio the son of Don Ansel and Betty (Don) Beymer Payton.
Ted retired from the City of Zanesville after working there for 25 years. He loved playing softball and cards with family and friends. He enjoyed watching softball in Cannelville. Ted was a founder & president of the BFP club. Ted was an avid Buckeye & Cleveland Browns fan and the family encourages those coming to the visitation or funeral to wear your team attire.
He is survived by, the love of his life, wife, Kim Arnold Ansel; four children, JoAnne, JR, Josh and Michele; six grandchildren, Shawn, Lawrence, Kobe, Kade, Bryce and Baylee; a great grandson, Tegan; eight siblings, Tod (Sabrina) Ansel, Tim (Gail) Ansel, Steve (Libby) Payton, Tammy (EV) Bowers, Doug (Tracy) Payton, Theresa (Randy) Salvati, Angel (Tommy) Randles and Jennifer Payton; a special Aunt, Brenda Heizman.; several nieces and nephews; his step mother Kay Ansel; fur babies, Pixy, Bella and Lily; and numerous friends including the Frame family.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his stepfather, Don Payton; and father in law, Jim Arnold.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Celebrant Jeff Hardwick officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park.
