Ronald “Ron” C. Miller

Ronald “Ron” C. Miller, 75, left this life at 9:45 PM on January 29, 2022.  He was born June 21, 1946 in Zanesville, Ohio to Howard and Florence (Mercer) Miller.  He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Walchak Miller, on June 17, 1967.

Ron is survived by his wife and three daughters, Cassie (Jim) McLendon, Carrie (Tim) Waite and Katie (Jay) Susil.  Also, surviving are eight grandchildren Lauren Waite, Nicholas Waite, Carson Waite, Sarah Waite, Matthew McLendon, Jack McLendon, Makenna Susil and Camille Susil. He is also great grandfather to Declan, Aurora, Thor, Jane, and Jace.  Ron is survived by his brothers Bill (Marie) Miller and Bob Miller, sister Vicki (Pete) Rapol and sisters in law, Eve Miller and Judy (Michael) Rebic.  Ron also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Ron served the United States Airforce and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He retired from Ameritech after 40 plus years.  Ron was a talented woodturner.  In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers and nephews.  Ron and Karen spent their winters camping in Florida and traveling throughout the United States.  Ron was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Proceeding Ron in death are his parents, in laws Theodore (Buck) and Norma (Carson) Walchak, his younger brother James Rick Miller, two infant grandsons Jonathan and Zachary McLendon, a nephew Tony West, and sister in law Barb Miller.

Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday February 2, 2022 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will conclude at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Highland Oaks Health Center, Brookdale Senior Living and his many friends who supported Ron throughout his life.  Special thanks to his fishing buddies, Doug Reynolds and Bill Hutchinson.
