Ronald E. Newberry, 82 of McConnelsville passed away peacefully on February 15, 2023 at Highland Oaks Care Center in McConnelsville.
Ron was born in McConnelsville on February 19, 1940. He is the son of the late Roy S. Newberry and Florence F. (Crawford) Blackburn. Ron worked for United Telephone Company of Ohio, now known as Brightspeed, where he retired after forty-two years. Over the years Ron wore many hats including serving as a former Morgan County Commissioner, an inactive member of the M&M Fire Department, previously served as police officer and deputy sheriff for Morgan County, he also was an auctioneer at Buchanan Auction Service for over 30 years. Ron served his country in the U.S. National Guard for 14 years and he is a member of the Malconta American Legion Post #24.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna (DuVall) Newberry, whom he married on April 13, 1963; his daughter, Karen (Joshua) Camp; his sister-in-law and caregiver, Jane Blackburn; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his grandson, Revan Camp, who passed away on November 16, 2004, his brothers, Roy C. Newberry, Rodney L. Newberry, and Robert H. Blackburn; and his step-father, Guy “Daddy” Blackburn.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM at the Funeral Home. Pastor Lisa Jenkins will officiate the service. Military Honors will be provided by Malconta American Legion Post #24
