Ronald D. Palmerton, 63, of Zanesville, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at his home. He was born May 20, 1947, in Zanesville, a son of the late Alva D. and Mildred Bunting Palmerton. He worked as a salesman for Nationwise Auto Parts and previously worked for McGraw-Edison. He was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church. He loved his grandchildren and was an avid card player who enjoyed the Wheeling â€œVegasâ€ Casinos, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Rebecca A. â€œBeckyâ€ Stoops Palmerton, whom he married June 10, 1967, of the home; two daughters, Anita (Steve) Phillips of Thornville and Lisa Bash of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Nicklaus Phillips, Brandon and Zach Phillips, Sydney and Hayden Bash; an uncle, Gerald Grubb of Zanesville; many cousins and friends; and good friends, Jim and JeanAnn Allen of New Concord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6- 8 p.m. today, Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas England assisted by Rev. Skip Colvin officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
