Robert J. Sees, Jr.

Robert J. Sees, Jr., 75, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, November 24, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.

Born October 5, 1946 in Coshocton, Ohio he was a son of the late Robert J.  and Betty Jean (Clough) Sees, Sr. and was a 1964 graduate of Coshocton High School.  Bob retired in 2000 from the maintenance department of General Electric Company of Coshocton where he had 35 years of service and he was a former member of the United Steelworkers Union.  He was also Scout Master for Boy Scouts Troop 112 of Frazeysburg for many years.

Bob was very patriotic and was proud to be an American.  He proudly served our country in the United States Navy for nearly four years during the Vietnam War and afterwards, was a member of the Ohio National Guard.  He was a member of Wakatomika Post 6193 VFW; American Legion Post 29; Muskingum County Veterans Association and Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter #55.  He was proud of our United States Flag and had presented dozens of flags to the families of deceased veterans while participating in Military Honors.  He assisted in the placing of flags on the graves of veterans at Frazeysburg Cemetery for many years and was always present for parades and school programs where our veterans were being honored.  He will be greatly missed by our community.

Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra K. (Myers) Sees whom he married May 12, 1967; on son, Kevin (Mindy Novaria) Sees of South Zanesville, Ohio; a daughter, Nikki (Dustin) Matchett of Dresden, Ohio and four grandchildren, Marissa Sees, Ethan Sees, Hudson Matchett and Weston Matchett.  Also surviving in one brother, Robin Sees of Coshocton; two sisters, Roberta Snouffer of Bridgeport, Ohio and Betty Ann (Mark) McIntosh of Wheeling, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews and the mother of Kevin’s children, Stephanie Sees of Frazeysburg.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 7pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Wells officiating.  Bob will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, at Frazeysburg Cemetery.
