A memorial service for Richard Edwin “Ed” Boehm, age 75, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, at Faith Bible Church, 12239 Morse Road SW, Pataskala. The family will receive guests at 12 p.m. until the time of the service to reminisce and honor the life of Ed.
Ed was born October 24, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Richard and Kathryn (Walter) Boehm. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. Ed was a proud resident of Norwich, Ohio and was a 1965 graduate of Brookhaven High School. He married Karen Kreager on May 27, 1989 in Hillard, Ohio.
Ed served in the United States Army at Fort Knox. He worked as an automotive technician and an agricultural mechanic instructor. Ed was a member of Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church and was a Senior Fairboard Member for the Hartford Independent Fair. Ed was a quiet people-person and loved all things John Deere and horses, including horse showing and trail riding. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on the farm.
In his generous nature, Ed was an organ and tissue donor through Lifeline of Ohio and gave the gift of life and hope to others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Karen (Kreager) Boehm; three children, Rick (Jennifer Burns) Boehm, Jeff (Shelley) Boehm and Melissa (Andy) Taylor; grandchildren, Jimmy Boehm, Jake (Amanda) Boehm, Zoey Boehm, Savannah Ray, Taylor Ray, Robby Taylor, Josh Taylor, Allie Taylor, Maggie Taylor, and Jay Jay Boehm; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Vaeda Bell; sister, Susan Willis; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
At a later date, Ed’s ashes will be scattered on the farm.
