Juanita “Mama Juan” Marie Wilson

Juanita Marie Wilson (Mama Juan), 55, of Zanesville, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 5, 2022.
She was born December 17, 1966 to Rebecca (Fulkerson) Jones. She graduated from Maysville High School in 1985 and married the love of her life, Steve Wilson, June 4, 1988. Juanita and Steve raised their two boys, Cory and Justin, in Zanesville spending lots of time at football games, basketball games, nights at the hunting cabin, and summers spent in Florida. Her biggest achievement was the family she raised.
Her working career began at Longaberger and she spent the last 20 years employed at Maysville Elementary. Juanita enjoyed seeing all the kids over the years and watching them grow up. She didn’t know a stranger; you could always find her with a smile on her face and dancing. Mama Juan’s family was her pride and joy. She loved with all her heart and always saw the brighter side of life. Later in life, her focus was on her granddaughter, Rowan (7), who were absolutely inseparable. Juanita was a beloved wife, mother, mammy, sister, and beloved friend to many.
Juanita is survived by her mother Rebecca Jones, husband Steve Wilson, sons Cory (Abbey) Wilson, Justin (Samantha) Wilson; grandchildren Rowan and Grace Wilson; siblings Denise (Randy) Wells and John (Marsha) Harris; several nieces and nephews; dear friends and chosen family Beth Calihan, Joyce Starcher, Stephanie Kimble, and Laura Beth Evans; and special dog “big head” Jedd.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Monday, October 10th, 2022. Calling hours will be held at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home in White Cottage, Ohio from 3pm to 7pm.
In life, Juanita was a giver and an avid supporter of Christ Table. Therefore, the family asks in lieu of flowers, please send donations to Christ Table of Zanesville, Ohio.
