James E. Sanders, 75 of Philo, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
Jim was born on February 17, 1947 in Morgan County. He is the son of the late Ralph and LaVerne (Campbell) Sanders. He retired from Adams Brothers Concrete where he worked as a cement truck mixer/driver, he also worked for the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo. He was an avid Steelers fan and a fan of anything John Deere, including his 1947 John Deere tractor. He was a member of the Philo-Duncan Falls VFW Post #10275, the Ernest G. Walsh American Legion Post #246, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #55, the National Rifle Association and he proudly served his country in the US Army.
Jim is survived by his wife Judy A. (May) Sanders, whom he married September 19, 1970; his children, Jeff (Annette) Boykin and Joy (David) Howiler; his grandchildren, Kyle Boykin, Sydney Boykin, Stephanie Miller, Marcus Miller, and Jacie Howiler; his ten great grandchildren; his sister, Becky Browning; his brother Rodney Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Bree Guy and his brother, Brent Sanders.
Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday. Pastor Lisa Jenkins will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the US Army Color Guard, VFW Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29.
