JAMES DANIEL WATSON (August 16, 1935 – February 1, 2011)

JAMES DANIEL “DAN” WATSON, 75, OF Philo, passed away at his residence on Tuesday February 1, 2011.

Dan was born August 16, 1935 in Zanesville the son of the late James Watson and Adra (Hill) Watson Baker. Dan retired after 30 years from the Franklin Local School District where he worked as a custodian in the Philo Elementary School. He enjoyed hunting and golfing, he was a member of the Muskingum County Old Timers association he coach and managed the Philo / Duncan Falls Babe Ruth baseball for several years as well as umpiring softball games at Riverside Park and area high school baseball games.

Dan is survived by his wife Sandra (Bachelor) Watson, whom he married September 2, 1960; his daughter Jamie (Tom Hamrick) Watson of Baltimore, MD, Lee Anne (Jeff) Test of Gahanna; one granddaughter Charlotte Test; one brother Bill (Jackie) Watson of Duncan Falls; a sister Nan (Jerry) Grandstaff of Columbus.

In addition to his parents Dan is preceded in death by a nephew John Watson.

Visitations will be 6 to 8pm Thursday, Feb 3rd and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday, Feb 4th at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11am with Rev. Tim Monteith officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
