Harold L. Sharkey (June 6, 1930 – September 27, 2011)


Harold Lloyd “Snap” Sharkey, 81, of Crooksville passed away on Tuesday September 27, 2011 at his residence.

Harold was born in Crooksville, Oh on June 6, 1930 to the late Charley and Lura Boring Sharkey. Harold was formerly employed at Friendship Pottery and was a former self-employed refuge hauler.

He is survived by his companion in life Peggy Sharkey of the home, a son: Mike (Nikki) Sharkey of Crooksville, three daughters: Lisa McCormick of Crooksville, Stacy Needham of Crooksville, and Etta (Randy) Mullett of New Lexington, a brother: Paul Sharkey of McConnelsville, a sister: Marilyn (Rodney) Wesney of New Lexington, five grandchildren: Darrel McCormick, Kasie (Jason) Rose, Michael Sharkey, Nathan Hinkle, and Raegan Needham. Harold is also survived by some very special friends and relatives: his daughter-in-law Nikki, a cousin Riley Willison, a riding buddy Dewey, and his caregiver Cynthia Ritchie.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Everett, Edgar, and Melvin Sharkey., a sister Erma Bobb, and a son-in-law Donald Needham.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday September 29 at THE CROOKSVILLE CHAPEL OF THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 207 BURLEY STREET, CROOKSVILLE. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Friday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
