Gladys I. Johnson, 87, of Chandlersville, passed away July 9th 2010 at 6:40 pm at the Muskingum County Home.
Gladys was born March 2, 1923 in Belle Valley, OH the daughter of the late Silas Alva and Mona Madge (Davis) Coyle. She was homemaker as well as working as a key-punch operator and a painter for Shawnee Pottery, reading teacher for the Malta Christian School and a member of the Zanesville Bible Methodist Church.
Gladys is survived by her three sons Brent (Rose) Johnson of Mount Perry, David (Ann) Johnson of Zanesville and Dana (Beverly) Johnson of Blue Rock, her three daughters Melanie Southall of Blue Rock, Leah (Jeffrey) Harper of Chandlersville and Karen (Phil) Hinkle of Carlwick; her 19 grandchildren and 13 Great grandchildren; her sisters Lois (Willis) Haughey of Watseka, IL, and Thelma Ann (Richard) Miller of Fairbury, IL, one sister in law Shirley Coyle of Tallassee, FL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lee J. Johnson who passed away March 16, 2010, her brothers Walton, Eddie, Donald, David Coyle and an infant brother, her sister Iola Yount.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday, July 12th at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where the funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday with Pastor William Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
