Esther Jean Irwin

Esther Jean Irwin, 95 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 at the Oaks at Bethesda.

Esther was born at home in Bristol Twp , Morgan County, December 28, 1927, the daughter of James Oran and Inis Marie (Lawrence) Miller.

Esther graduated from M & M High school in 1945 and married William Lloyd Irwin on June 24, 1947.

Over the years Esther helped with the farm, operated the High Hill Store, served 2 terms as Meigs Twp Clerk and drove school bus for Meigs and Franklin Local Schools. Esther also was a waitress at Howard Johnson’s restaurant and retired from Elby’s Big Boy Restaurant in Cambridge after over 25 years.

Esther is survived by her children; Gloria (Robert) Irwin Evans,  Janice Goldsmith, Jim (Debbie) Irwin, Jeff Irwin; her five grandchildren, Rick Goldsmith, Jason (Mindy) Goldsmith, Toni (Kevin) Porter, Tomi Roberts, Andrew (Andrea) Irwin; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn (Blade Lentz) Goldsmith, Spencer and Reece Goldsmith, Tanner (Amanda) Bennett, Cayden (Kate) Porter, Colten (Abbie) Porter, Danny Porter, JT (Bettie) Roberts, Chase (Alexis) Roberts, Cole Roberts, Jackson Irwin, and Waylon Wilson; her great great grandchildren, Aspen, Colten, Jacob, Pierce, Mazie, Charleigh, Bexleigh, Dream, Daivi; her brother, Donald (Bobbie) Miller; her sister, Betty Jo Stuckey.

In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd Irwin, who passed away on July 24, 2007; as well as her two sons, Bob and John Irwin; her infant sister, Marie Miller and her two brothers, Edsel and Wayne Miller.

Visitations will be 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, and also 11 to noon on Monday, January 30, 2023.  Funeral services will be held at 12, noon.  Pastor Lisa Jenkins will officiate the service.  Esther will be laid to rest in Lytlesburg Cemetery in Young Hickory.
