D. Daniel Lazar, 76, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away after several years of health issues on Monday, January 30, 2023, at OSU Hospital, at 1:28 p.m. Daniel was born April 25, 1946 in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late David and Rosa (Cowden) Lazar. In addition to his parents, Daniel is also preceded in death by his sister, Agnes (Lazar) Smith; and a sister-in-law, Janice Lazar.
Daniel leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife, Nancy (Evans) Lazar, with whom he would have celebrated 48 beautiful and wonderful years on March 15, 2023. Daniel is also survived by his two brothers, Ted Lazar, of South Zanesville and Tom (Rita) Lazar, of Nashport.
Daniel was a graduate of Rosecrans High School, class of 1964. Daniel went on to enjoy a career in engraving, from which he retired after many years. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Church and an altar server during his high school years. Daniel was a current member of the Church of St. Edward the Confessor, and a proud 4th Degree Member of The Knights of Columbus, of Granville, Ohio.
Daniel was the number one fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and loved to attend games. He enjoyed all types of music and liked to go bowling. Daniel also enjoyed working in his yard where he often set up water fountains to listen to the soothing sounds of the running water. He loved his little puppy, Candi. He was a wonderful husband who will be deeply missed.
Per Daniel’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services will be observed at this time. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Tom (Helen) Smith, Bonnie Wells, Sister Lori, brother-in-law, Doug Swank, Rusty (Denise) Evans and Don (Deanna) Evans for their love and support.
