Betty L. Baker (June 25, 1939 – September 19, 2011)


Betty L. Baker 72 of Zanesville passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at 8:46 PM at The Ohio University Medical Center.

She was born June 25, 1939 in Zanesville, the daughter of Harry Stone and Geraldine Nichols Stone. Betty worked for several companies over the years, most recently in the shipping department of the Longaberger Company. One of her favorite positions was as the Bar Manager at the Holiday Inn in Zanesville. She will be remembered by family and friends as a great cook, loving and caring person who always had a positive outlook on life and a good sense of humor.

Betty is survived by her 5 children Kathy (Norman) Gill, Tammy Parcells, Tina (Randy) Chapin-Sims, Tim Chapin, Tara “Pudgie” (Tim) Bernard, 10 grandchildren, Betsy Plummer, Dustin Gill, Misty Gill, Hailey Chapin, Cody Arbuckle, Luke Parcells, Tyler Parcells, David Bernard, Daniel Bernard, Ashley Bernard; 15 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Martha Gibbon, and Becky Sinift a brother Richard Stone; and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brothers Benny, Pete, David and Mark Stone.

The family is being served by the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME 2318 Maple Avenue, where visitation will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Following Betty’s wishes she will be cremated and laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park.
