Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Bender Sr., 98, of Zanesville died at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Altercare of Zanesville.
He was born on Tuesday, March 10, 1925 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Frank S. Bender and Henrietta Spurrier Bender.
Benjamin was a member of North Terrace Church of Christ. He retired from Owens-Brockway and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Ben was an avid golfer.
He is survived by a son, Benjamin F. (Linda) Bender Jr.; one brother, James W. Bender; three grandchildren, Tracie Willis, Shellie Nations and Shannon Bender; one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn L. Stansberry Bender; 6 siblings, Henry Bender, Fannie M. Everly, Thomas J. Bender, John P. Bender, Thelma Achauer and Genevieve Goodwin.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Pleasant Grove where burial will conclude services.
