Barbara “Bobbie” Freshwater (February 14, 1916 – March 25, 2011)

Barbara “Bobbie” Freshwater 95, died Friday March 25, 2011 at Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville. She had resided at Willow Haven for three years.
Bobbie was born in Frazeysburg on February 14, 1916. She spent most of her 95 years living in Frazeysburg with her husband Theodore “Ted” Freshwater. She was a longtime member of the 20th Century Club, and a member of Eastern Star. She worked part-time in the school cafeteria and was an active member of Frazeysburg United Methodist Church. Mostly she was a stay-at-home mom who also cared for her mother ,Bessie Fulks.
After the death of her husband in 1981, she moved to Zanesville. She joined Coburn United Methodist Church and eventually became resident manager of her senior apartment building on Morris Drive. A job in which she enjoyed until a visual handicap forced her to retire.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Ann (John) Flynn and Sue Ellen (Dr. Charles) Harrison both of Zanesville. Two grandsons ; Ted Flynn of Euclid,Ohio and Steve (Denise) Flynn of Zanesville; two granddaughters, Michele (Greg) Kirk of Galion, Ohio and Molly (Gary) McCue of Bellville, Ohio. She leaves seven great-grandchildren and is also remembered by three step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Bessie Bagent Fulks, three sisters; Della McDevitt, Dora Upton, and Betty Bebout. Bobbie’s oldest daughter Linda McElfresh passed away in December of 2010.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Monday March 28 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday in The Snouffer Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Marilyn Murphree officiating. She will enter eternal rest in the Frazeysburg cemetery beside of her husband.
