Anna Lucille Ayres, 91 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Lucille was born on October 15, 1931 in Zanesville . She is the daughter of the late Emerson and Nancy (Walker) Brock. Lucille worked and eventually retired from East Muskingum Schools as a cook. She also worked as a cook at the Holiday Inn. In her free time, Lucille loved playing bingo and karaoke. She also had a fondness towards dogs and cats. She loved watching sports and her grandchildren playing. Most of all, Lucille was a loving daughter, sister, mother, wife, and grandmother.
Lucille is survived by her children, Tammy (Rick) Swingle and Dana (Karen) Ayres and family; her grandchildren, Craig (Ashleigh) Stoneburner, Heath (Amy) Swingle; her great-grandchildren, Whitnee (Kevin) Weber, Jaleigh, Emma, Easton Stoneburner, Beau (Felicia Hull) Driggs, Allison (Brandon Rosser) Driggs, Carly (Parker Reid) Moore, Kiersten Swingle, and Wyatt Swingle; her great great-grandchildren, Wren Lucille Weber, Darby Jo Weber, Anthony, Emmitt, Zaydin and Addilynn Driggs, and Gracie Reid; several nieces and nephews including Charles Brock, Linda Bryan, and Ruthie Rhinehart.
In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William “Bill” Ayres, who passed away on April 15, 2004; and her siblings, Leonard Brock, Carl Brock, Harry Brock, Harmon Brock, Clarence Brock, Bryan Brock, Joe Stevens, and Bacil Stevens, Mary Baker, and Buelah Brock
Visitations will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home, 63 West Main Street in New Concord, OH, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 28, 2022 with Pastor Doug Winner officiating. Lucille will be laid to rest beside her husband in the St. Paul Cemetery.
