Donald Roy McGinnis, 91, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday January 10, 2023 at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on August 21, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Samuel LeRoy McGinnis & Hildreth Wells McGinnis.
Don is reunited in passing with his son, Shawn McGinnis.
Don proudly served our country in the United Sates Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work for several entities through the years. Following his well-deserved retirement and relocation to Myrtle Beach, Don was able to enjoy the finer things. Don had the honor of playing 3rd base for the Cleveland Indians for several years. He was a sports enthusiast who loved golf. Above all else, Don loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Don’s memory are his adoring wife of over 34 years, Ms. Gail Mae McGinnis of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Katie McGinnis and her son, Luis & Trisha Ramunni and her children, Justin, Matthew, Brooke & Ava; two great-grandchildren, Evan & Justin, Jr.; brothers, James [Patricia] McGinnis, John [Helen] McGinnis & Steven [Helen] McGinnis; sister, Susan Jean McGinnis; and many supportive friends and neighbors.
