WHIZ is looking for a Master Control Operator to join our team. This position includes the responsibilities of operating master control.

These responsibilities include:

1. On-air switching which includes switching newscasts, and switching on-air
programming.
2. Audio console operation
3. Equipment logging at scheduled intervals and/or due to events.
4. Server Play out systems
5. Satellite systems
6. Organizing and Quality Checking content for air

Applicant should be computer literate, willing to assist co-workers from all departments and flexible to work floating shifts which include holidays and weekends as WHIZ is a 24/7/365 operation.

Experience or education in television production is desired.

Job Duties

To provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles an able to pay attention to detail. Primary duties include recording daily transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciling accounts. Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance and 401k.

Job responsibilities:

  • Post and process cash receipts to ensure correct customer accounts
  • Enter Accounts Payable and assorted expense transactions
  • Reconcile monthly bank accounts
  • Assist with additional financial tasks as needed
  • Online Bill Pay customer processing
  • General ledger account reconciliation processing

Qualifications:

  • Previous billing experience in both receivables and payables
  • Knowledge of standard accounting procedures and accounting software packages
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed, organized and able to multitask
  • High aptitude to learning new software and systems

Experience:

  • Relevant – 5 Years (Preferred)

This position performs a number of duties which include but are not limited to the following:
As the Webmaster you will maintain our website(s) and servers to meet user needs. You will be responsible for making sites easy to use, attractive and secure.
In this role, you should be detail-oriented and an excellent communicator. Balancing creativity with an analytical process is essential.
Ultimately, you will ensure the functionality and efficiency of web infrastructure.
Typical job duty expectations:

  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor and upgrade the organization’s website.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues.
  • Identify and respond to all website security breaches.
  • Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.

WHIZ-TV is looking for a part time Production Assistant to fill an open role.  We are looking for a professional, dependable, and outgoing person who wants to join a family

oriented, fun team on Broadcast Hill!

Duties include, but not limited to:
operates and sets up all cameras in studio;
inputs all graphics into character generator;
checking that equipment, e.g. microphones and earpieces, are working before the show;
assisting guests on any studio productions;
relaying instructions from the control room to the studio floor using a talk-back system;
keeping the director and producer informed of action off-camera;
giving cues and time counts to talent or guests;
troubleshoot any technical problems;
controlling the studio and halting production if necessary;
adhering to health and safety regulations, e.g. keeping ‘safe areas’ and fire exits clear of equipment.
