Arthur A. Bryan held several joint ownerships of funeral homes in Zanesville since 1940. In 1965, he set out on his own, building a new funeral home facility at the current location of 2318 Maple Ave. With over 50 years of funeral directing service, Arthur died July 19, 1987. Thomas A. Bryan, son of Arthur, gained ownership of the business in 1977 following his father's retirement and continued the funeral home's operation. In 1997, he sold the business and property to Carriage Funeral Services. Upon his retirement, funeral director Dan Snider's name was added to the funeral home in 2006. Dan had been with the Bryan family since 1984. Dan Snider & Funeral Director Ken Reigle continued to be involved in the business having over 30 years of dedication to the funeral home. In 2012 Dan & Ken both decided to take a part-time involvement with the funeral home. Jeff Hardwick, involved in the funeral industry for over 34 years was hired as the Managing Partner in 2012 & in 2014 his name was added to the sign and the business name changed to Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. The name may have changed a few times but the same attention to detail that the firm has been known for remains the same.
