Two Coshocton County residents are in trouble with law after a four month investigation.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said 33-year-old Kenneth Humphrey II and 35-year-old Shane D. Phillips were charged Thursday with tampering with evidence, a 3rd degree felony.

The Sheriff’s Office said December 6, the two suspects were observed breaking into a structure while detectives were conducting surveillance. They fled on a four-wheeler into a field and then fled on foot. Both were located and taken into custody. The four-wheeler the suspects fled on was confirmed stolen from this year.

Authorities believe Humphrey and Phillips are responsible for several thefts, motor vehicle thefts and breaking and entering cases dating back to July of 2022. More charges are anticipated after the review from the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office.
