Boil advisory issued for some water customers in downtown Zanesville

Local News

Due to an emergency water main repair located at 22 N. 5th Street the Zanesville Water Division is issuing a precautionary boil alert for customers in the affected area. Crews are working to restore service as soon as possible.

This advisory is issued only for the customers experiencing low pressure in the areas listed below.

5th Street between Main and Market.

4th Street between Main and Market.

Fountain Alley between 3rd and 6th.

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for at least one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

This precautionary boil advisory is issued only for the affected area.  Water samples will be collected once the work is completed and service is restored. An additional notice will be given when the boil advisory is lifted.
