ZANESVILLE, oh – The Holliday season is upon us, which means ’tis the season for giving.

NLMB Security partnered up with the Salvation Army for the second annual Turkey Bowl. The Turkey Bowl is a football game, hosted by Leo Crosby, to raise donations for the Salvation Army. It is a Fight Hunger campaign and a fun way to give back to the community.

“The Turkey Bowl to me means a lot because I get to come home and spend time with my family, but also I get to give back to a good cause. I get to spend time with people I haven’t seen in months or maybe years,” Leo said. “So, you know, it’s good for our community, and a good thing for people to have an outlet to, so maybe they don’t have to resort to bad things as drugs and violence.” Leo stated.

You can participate in the game by bringing a canned food donation. The Turkey Bowl has been a great help to the Salvation Army, last year they gathered approximately 462 cans to give out to the community.

Salvation Army office manager, Cari Shoop, explains why the Turkey Bowl is important to the community;

“I think the Turkey Bowl is important to the community because it shows people that you can create programs, you can do things to get the community involved and gathering food for the community.” Cari said.

Leo Crosby plans on having the Turkey Bowl again next year, with a goal of having more teams and more canned food donations for the Salvation Army.
