ZANESVILLE, OH- This week’s Pet of The Week is someone who is shy but loves being outside. Meet Nellie, she’s a Black and White Collie, Border/ Mixed Breed who is good with kids, cats and other dogs.
Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society April Cohagen-Gibson spoke more about Nellie.
“She’s just a little over eleven months old for her size, people think she’s an older dog but she’s not. She doesn’t have any problems with other animals, which includes dogs and cats, we just had a couple young kids in our shelter visiting and she did very well with them. She’s still a puppy with the size I mean she still has puppy tendencies but we work with our dogs to give them the basic commands.”
Cohagen-Gibson also spoke about upcoming events that the Animal Shelter Society is involved in.
“So, you know we have a Barktoberfest coming up, were receiving sponsorships in, were very very thankful for our community that supports us and when they support us, they believe in our mission and that means a great deal to us.”
Barktoberfest will happen on Wednesday October 12th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Greenhouse at Green Valley Golf Club. If you have any question about adopting Nellie or adopting any other pets you can call their number or visit their website.
