ODOT Update: Linden Avenue Scheduled to have Nightly Closures

Local News Stories

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -Motorists can expect several shifts in their daily commute as construction of Interstate 70 continues.

Linden Avenue specifically under I-70 will be closed for nightly closures. The O-Dot District 5 Public Information Officer, Morgan Overbey told us that there will be work done on the Muskingum River Bridge.

“Linden Avenue will be closed on August 29 and August 30 and those are nightly closures for beam erection on the Muskingum River Bridge. And the closure hours are actually 7p.m. to 5a.m,” she said.

The bike path located between Zane’s Landing North and the Muskingum River Bridge will also be closed through August 26th. However, drivers can expect State Street to be re-opened by September 9th.

“We are not having as many impacts now that 6th and 7th are now open and 5th street is going to be closed for an extended period of time. …. Looking forward to State Street opening as I’m sure a lot of motorists are and the project you know is progressing,“ Overbey also told us.

All construction is weather dependent. For more details or a full list of road closures in the area, visit transportation.ohio.gov.
