ZANESVILLE, OH- Schubach Big Band is celebrating 10 years of music at Zane Landing Park on August 7th.

The concert is free to the public and will feature vocalists Molly Beetem and Steve Spires. The 17-piece Band Leader David Schubach says this event is important because it’s a way to share his love of music to the community.

“I’ve been a musician all my life, my family used to have a music store here but I went to Hollywood and worked in the industry for twenty years writing music and so when I came back from Hollywood, which is about ten years ago I had all this music in a box so I decided to start a band and we started playing, we’ve been having fun ever since,” he said.

Schubach also said that his favorite part of the concert is the preparations because as the band leader, he loves seeing his work come to life.

“My favorite part of the Concert is actually the preparation, that may surprise some people but I write music so I spent hours and hours and hours putting ink on paper getting ready to put it in front of them but it’s just a joy to hear when it really comes to life and that’s what were gonna do Sunday night. /We’ve done this every year as a gift to the community and we’ve gotten such great feedback we intend to do and keep the tradition going as long as we can,” he said.

The event will begin at 7 pm, If it rains the concert will be moved inside to the Secrest Auditorium.
