ZANESVILLE, OH- The Maysville Panthers are getting ready for their upcoming football season and with almost all of their skill players returning they will look to lean on them to keep the offense rolling.

This season the Panthers will begin with an almost entirely new offensive line. The offense will be anchored by returning quarterback Alex Bobb and 1,000 yard running back Hayden Jarett when they open up with Meadowbrook.

“Our line, even though it’s inexperienced, still don’t even have a lot of size. I expect maybe do a little more perimeter, pass the ball a little bit more, Alex Bobb, return starter at quarterback, had a great year as a sophomore. So, we are going to toss it maybe more than we have been in the past, until our line kind of matures a little bit.”

The goal for the line said Maysville Head Coach Craig Clarke is to get better each game and until they’re up to speed they’ll have to rely on their defense.

“I’ve told our defense we maybe use them to carry us, you know a little bit, again at the beginning of the season. Our offense may not put us in the best situations but we are able to get out of it, so. Expectations, we don’t look for, you know, long range goals. We are just trying to get better each and every practice,” said Clarke.

Maysville’s first game is with Meadowbrook on August 19 at 7pm. The Panthers were 3-7 last season.
