ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority held a board meeting today to discuss economic development plans and possibilities. Executive Director Matt Abbott listed some of the tasks the Port Authority performs and disclosed some of the details discussed during the meeting.
“Today we discussed an event recently, a brokers open house, a developers open house, where we brought in a lot of folks from inside our community and outside our community just to see some of the true assets that we have as a community,” Abbott said. “Not only in available land but our infrastructure and how we showcase that. Because there is a strong demand nationwide for ready sites and there is a strong demand for speed to market and access. And those are all intangibles that we can offer here in Zanesville.”
Abbott announced a couple of actions from the county commissioners that continue roadway development and improvement within the county.
“One is the Eastpointe Business Park. We will see some significant upgrades to the roadways within the confines of the park,” Abbott said. “We also have another project that was due to an expansion of a company at the East Central Ohio Business Park when the Ridge Corporation expanded.”
The Port Authority coordinates funding that goes toward developing new, and improving existing, infrastructures that will appeal to businesses who are seeking to relocate.
