DRESDEN, OH- Even though they were lineup across from each other, these high school players all have one goal in mind and that’s to enjoy every moment. That is something that their coach told them even before their first practice
“From the very first day that we picked the teams, I sent them kind of a letter about who’s coaching the game and the very bottom I put for some of you guys it’s going to be the last time you ever put on pads. Some guys are playing college football, some aren’t. So, my message is take advantage of this opportunity, you don’t get it back. Football is a sport that you don’t go just play with your buddies in the backyard so take advantage of the opportunity and have fun,” said Muskingum Valley All Stars Head Coach Cam West.
It’s clear that the message coach told them has made a effect on how they are looking forward to their final game.
“It’s not take advantage of any moment like not just being so excited to play on Friday night all that you got to take advantage of the moment you have here with your friends at practice and stuff because it’s our last one so you got take advantage of it,” said Tri-Valley Defensive Back Jalen Goins-Chandler.
“I’m just focusing on enjoying it having fun with these guys enjoying it because my coaches are helping too enjoying the last time with them and you know hopefully putting on a good game for the people coming to watch and hopefully we win,” said West Muskingum Linebacker Harley Hopkins.
The Muskingum Valley All Star team will look to get the win over the Licking County All-Stars on Friday night at Tri-Valley.
