MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio – This weekend marks the 20th annual Biker Fest Weekend in the Muskingum County community,
Biker groups from the local area gathered together starting on Friday evening to celebrate the beginning of the biker season in the Muskingum Region.
Rushing Wind Biker Church partnered with Fink’s Harley Davidson and the Y-City H.O.G. Club to host the Bike Blessing this Saturday morning, June 11th. Regional biker clubs gathered together to listen to a brief message from Pastor Mike McGuire of the Rushing Wind Biker Church, immediately followed by group prayer and blessing of the bikes.
Pastor Mike shared the value of hosting this event and what it means to the organizers.
“We are getting ready to do a bike blessing for all of the bikers in the community. It’s our privilege to be able to pray with them and ask the Lord to give them a good safe riding season.”
The bike blessing was not the only event this weekend, with guest speakers, music, and raffles for local riders and community members to enjoy. On Friday evening, the group participated in the “Shake your Booties” ride, traveling to the local Heartbeat and Pregnancy Distress Center to donate over 70 sets of baby booties. Additionally, this evening the crowd will honor first responders and recognize recently deceased member Mike Griffin with a commemorative plaque.
Pastor Mike mentioned the opportunities available to the community on Sunday, the final day of the Biker Fest Weekend.
“Sunday morning, we are going to honor veterans, motorcycle clubs, and motorcycle ministries with registration from 9 o’clock Sunday morning till 10:30 am. And then we are going to feed them a free lunch, give them free t-shirts – it’s going to be an awesome day!”
