WHIZ Sports 5-18: Sheridan Baseball Gets Past Warren

Local Sports Sports

THORNVILLE, OH- Even with the rain showing up here and there it wouldn’t stop this Sectional Championship game between Sheridan and Warren. First inning Hunter Vincent got things started and knocked one back to deep left field Reid Packer was there to make the catch but Warren would tag up on third and bring in a runner to put them up 2-0.

Sheridan would try to respond, Caden Sheridan would hit one into right field and then he turned on the jets to stretched for a double to give the home team a little bit of life. But they wouldn’t get anything out of it.

A couple innings later Blake Turnes hit it past the infield into the gap of right and center field that would bring in a base runner for Sheridan’s first points and Turnes would stretch this for a double. The Generals would bring in another run and tie it up at 2-2 in the third.

After getting it all knotted up Caden Sheridan would have a solid rest of the day on the mound, he and his defense would keep Waren scoreless the rest of the way and the Generals would get some more momentum on offense to go on to win this one 5-2.
