ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Today Ohio University Zanesville, or OUZ celebrated 75 years.
There were booths around with food, activities for children, information about registering for school and more.
The event started at 3pm and went on until 7pm with a full list of different activities.
Hannah Nissen, the OUZ Dean of Students says that this event showcases all of the programs and resources that the school has to offer.
“We also have our student services and our recruiting booth so that people can get tours of the campus and potentially get some information about the programs that we offer. We offer a number of different programs. 14 different bachelorette programs, 4 associate degree programs. We’re excited about all that we have to offer,” she said.
The event also partnered with the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day and had a bounce house and face painting for children.
This was the first time an event of this size has made its way on the campus and it was all done with the help of the community.
“We have had a tremendous number of community members and agencies have been supporting us. We are also partnering of course with the YMCA on their health kids day, the JC’s have supported us. We have a range of community agencies that are offering information and offering different kinds of swag people might get. So its a good event to come to,” she also told us.
In addition to the booths and car show outside, there were also many activities inside the building as well.
The campus hopes to be the home to many community events in the future.
