Local Sports Sports

THORNVILLE, OH- We are at the final stretch of the regular season for high school baseball and a handful of teams played in their regular season finale today. The Sheridan Generals looked to cap off their regular season with a win as they hosted the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes.

Sheridan at the plate and it was Reid Packer hitting a dribbler to the pitcher. He turns on the jets and beats out the throw. Nice hustle there by the Generals!

Next at bat, Blaine Hannan would draw a walk to load the bases. Then, it was Caden Sheridan with the laser up the middle bringing them home. The sophomore would knock in two runs to put the home team up by a pair.

Sheridan looking to add to their lead and it’s Jarrett Thorne coming up with the big hit. The grounder was bobbled by the Buckeyes shortstop so everyone stays on base and a run comes in to score.

Nelsonville-York would respond in their next at bat as they stole home twice off wild pitches. But, it wasn’t enough as the Generals go on to defeat the Buckeyes 11-3 in their final regular season game of the year.
