Big Brothers Big Sisters Reaches Goal with Fundraiser ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’

ZANESVILLE ,Ohio – The results are in, the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Zanesville has reached its goal with the annual ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’ fundraiser.

The event had over 100 teams participate to help them raise the money.

Bowl for Kids Sake raised over $85,000, which more than met the organization’s goal.

Katie Mainini, the Executive Director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville says that the event had a great turnout.

“Bowl for Kids Sake 2022 was a really big success. All 3 nights, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, had a really positive, exciting fun vibe to it. Everybody came out to support youth programs. Teams of 4-6 bowlers had a really great time,” Mainini told us.
The event was held at Sunrise bowling and is grateful for their large sponsors as well.

There were even members from other communities that reached out this year to support.

“Even some community supporters from other counties that showed support. In Guernsey and Noble came to support us as well. So it truly was just an indication that we extended and expanded on our partnerships this year and seeing that– all those people congregated with us this year to support this event was very very special,” she also said.

The proceeds will be used to help the organization’s school and community based programs.

Making it possible for more youth to be helped from funding.

KaJéza Hawkins is new to Zanesville, but an Ohio native, born and raised in the Gem City, Dayton, Ohio. KaJéza is very excited to be apart of the WHIZ-TV News Team.
