First Fridays are Offering More

Local News Stories

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville has adopted the first Friday of each month as an opportunity to hold events in the downtown district that draw people in and showcase what the downtown has to offer.

Ashley Cook, the Director of Sales and Marketing for Visit Zanesville explained how First Fridays are expanding and what people can experience this Friday at the Cinco de Mayo themed event.

“The city of Zanesville and Visit Zanesville have partnered together and we are so excited to add more to the First Fridays,” Cook said. “We encourage and welcome Everybody to come downtown this Friday from 4 until 9. We will have events going on hopefully, weather pending, outside of Secrest Auditorium. But if the weather is raining, we will move everything inside.”

There is a shuttle service planned to take visitors to all of the downtown art studios and galleries as well as the Secrest Auditorium that will host vendors, along with food trucks and live music.

“So we have Sons of Maverick. They are a local favorite here in Muskingum County and they will be playing from 6 until 8 p.m. We encourage everybody to come down and watch them. If you haven’t seen them, you are in for a treat,” Cook said.

First Fridays events are scheduled through October and you can find more information about First Fridays at VisitZanesville.org.
