ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For 75 years, Abbot Senior Living has provided an apartment style of living for people of retirement age. The non-profit offers advantages to their residents that provide convenience and a community oriented atmosphere. 

Abbot Senior Living Executive Director Kevin Pinson explained some of the services they provide and how an upcoming fundraiser contributes to those amenities.

“We’ve been doing this a couple of years now,” Pinson said. “Our book and media sale. It’s going to be from 10 to 4 on Saturday, May 7, this year here in the building. We’re taking donations now. Books, CD’s DVD’s, games, puzzles and things of that nature. We’ll put them out on display and ask for a donation when you make a purchase and all of those proceeds will go to providing activities for our seniors.”

Pinson noted that gently used books and such that are taking up space in your home could be repurposed as donations and staff members are on hand 24 hours 7 days a week to accept them.

“The funds will be used for all of our activities from having live entertainment come in, we do cookouts in the summertime, they play Bingo twice a week and we buy little prizes for the Bingo cart. So the funds will be used to fund any activities that have an expense to them,” Pinson said.
