WHIZ Sports 4-11: John Glenn Defense Propels Muskies Over Electrics

Local Sports Sports

DUNCAN FALLS, OH- The rain knocked out a lot of our games throughout the area. But, the Philo Electrics and John Glenn Muskies weathered the storm and met on the baseball diamond for a Muskingum Valley League matchup.

John Glenn got on the board first thanks to a big third inning. They scored five runs in the top of the third to break a 0-0 tie. From there, it was all defense for the Muskies.

Collin Campbell provided the road team with strong pitching while the rest of team made plays and forced outs.

The Electrics applied pressure when Griffin Wells hit one into the gap and got on base. Philo would load the bases but Campbell would get his team out of the jam with a big strikeout.

Philo looked to try and put together a seventh-inning comeback but fell short as Colt Emerson came in to close the game and ended it on a strikeout to give John Glenn a 6-1 win over Philo.
