ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System is partnering with the Muskingum County Literacy Council to promote their Family Reading Festival and Summer Reading program.
The Event will take place from 11-to-3 Saturday, May 7th, at the John McIntire Library.
Muskingum County Library System Marketing and Community Relations Director Sean Fennell explained the event and what people can expect.
“So the Family Reading Festival, which also coincides with the first day that you’re able to register for the Summer Reading is going to be the entire building too,” Fennell said. “We have 40-some-odd vendors coming. We’re going to have story time, so there’s just going to be so many literacy based activities for the entire family, and of course all ages are welcome.”
Fennell noted several changes to this year’s approach, such as, the Family Reading Festival used to be held at the Colony Square Mall and the two events used to be separate, but this year the library combined them.
The Muskingum County Library System has branches throughout the county that serve their patrons as conveniently as possible.
“You can stop by any of our locations and any MCLS staff member will be more than happy to talk with you about the Family Reading Festival or Summer Reading,” Fennell said. “Or you can visit our website and look at our Events Calendar and there’s a lot of information there.”
Fennell anticipates a large turnout and encourages everyone to participate in improving literacy throughout the county.
