ZANESVILLE, Ohio – April has been designated National Car Care Month to improve public awareness of vehicle maintenance and safety.

John McIntire Library Adult Services Manager Suzanne Helms discussed the variety of automotive information the library has available to the public.

“Chilton’s is a long trusted service manual. They cover many makes and models that are on the road now. From fully mechanical parts up to computer chips in your vehicles nowadays,” Helms said.

Helms noted The library’s mission is to serve the public and it offers more ways than just computer access to help its customers save money by maintaining their vehicles.

“In addition to the online resources we do have some Chilton’s manuals in our collection. You can check them out or we can help you make copies from the Chilton’s database. You can even print lots of those diagrams very easily with the print button they put right on the page,” Helms said.

Vehicle maintenance helps ensure that mechanical components maintain their optimum operation and wear to prevent costly breakdowns and safety issues.
