The Cambridge Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting.
Authorities said it took place in the 400 block of Clark Street Sunday around 9:00 p.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered 28-year-old Anthony Gerdau of Derwent on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Cambridge Police said they arrested a 23-year-old suspect who was inside a nearby house.
The suspect is being held in the Guernsey County Jail and is expected to be formally charged later Monday.
