ZANESVILLE, OH- The Bishops who were 13-7 last season are coming off of one of their best seasons in a while under fourth year coach Seth Thompson.

After making a big emphasis on getting stronger and faster in the weight room the Bishops will look to some of their young talent to try and replace some of the production left by their two top seniors this past season.

Though the challenge will be a big one to overcome Coach Thompson is looking forward to the competition and thinks his team led by junior second baseman Tommy Bernath is up for the task. Here is what Coach Thompson had to say about the team and the upcoming season.

“Really it’s just filling the gap left by our two seniors josh Mervin and Thomas Von josh played you know three consecutive seasons at third base for us um making very few errors and Thomas was able to pitch he was able to catch he was able to play the in field and those guys will be greatly missed and I think just finding guys that can replace them will be important,” said Thompson.

You know I know a lot of people talk about wins and losses I will like to just see improvement every person I think we have seventeen kids out this year and that’s the most that I’ve ever had in my three or four years here I just want to see every person get better I want to see every person be able to compete and by the end of the year I think I’ll be happy where we’re at,” said Thompson.
