K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week

Local News Stories

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Volunteer Doug McQuaid stopped by the WHIZ studio today to show us this week’s dog of the week.

Meet Bubba, a large, yet very gentle, two-year-old, pitbull mix.

McQuaid noted that Bubba likes to go for walks and loves to ride in a car.

“Yeah, this is Bubba, who came to us as a stray the first of December. He is very very friendly, and always keeps a clean kennel,” McQuaid said. “We feel that he would be a little too much for cats, so we wouldn’t recommend that at all. We would like for him to be an only.”

McQuaid reported the adoption center still has plenty of pet food and straw then talked about dog license renewal.

“January 31 is actually the last day and there’s 12 locations in Zanesville that accommodate all times and schedules that is actually still ten dollars. So after that the price does go up double,” McQuaid announced. “Also what you got to realize is that money truly does go toward the animals.”

If you would like to meet Bubba, need dog food, cat food or straw, or have any questions about dog licensing you can call (740) 453- 0273 or stop by the adoption center on Newark Road.
