Peter, The Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week

Local News

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week is Peter.

Peter has been with the animal shelter for almost a year now and is ready to be with his new family. He is two years old and has a lot of energy.

“He will be monitored in the application for him not to be in the home with other dogs. He is dog selective and we would not recommend cats. He doesn’t have a problem with children or adults, but he has very very high energy so we have to keep that in mind during the adoption process,” April Cohagen-Gibson, Animal Shelter Society General Manager stated.

Since Peter is a selective dog, the Animal Shelter Society does require for the whole family and any other pets in the home to come into the shelter for a meet and greet.

“But he’s a great dog. The Pitbull’s get a really bad rap, but he’s a very loving and appreciative dog. So he would make a great addition to someone’s home. We just have to be selective,” Cohagen-Gibson said.

The Animal Shelter is preparing for two fundraiser events. This coming Monday they will be honoring Betty White’s 100th birthday where the community can make donations through the website or Facebook page. Cohagen-Gibson would like for the community to also stay on the lookout for their annual Yappy Hour fundraiser coming up this April, which will be held at Zanesville Country Club.
