A semi accident on Interstate 70 in Zanesville closed the west bound lanes for nearly 12 hours.
According to Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency’s Deputy Director Travis Roach, the accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Monday near the Underwood Street Exit.
Roach said a semi truck that was carrying cartons of eggs struck a concrete barrier and then caught fire.
Roach said the driver and a passenger were able to get out of the truck safely.
The EMA was called to the scene due to diesel fuel that was leaking from the truck.
Crews worked until just before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday cleaning up the accident scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
