Center for Seniors Searching for New Executive Director

DOWNTOWN ZANESVILLE, Ohio- After the previous Executive Director for the Muskingum County Center for Seniors stepped down, David Boyer came out of retirement to serve as interim executive director in the meantime.

Boyer states that the search for a new executive director is going well.

“We have fifteen resumes, the candidacy was… we weren’t accepting resumes after October 31st. That was the deadline for receiving resumes. We have fifteen candidates who have put in resumes in the hopper,” David Boyer, interim executive director for the Muskingum County Center for Seniors stated.

The search committee met this past Friday to review the potential candidates and windled down the talent pool to a handful of candidates to interview them.

“You have to have a passion and a love for seniors. Who doesn’t love these good people? But you have to have a love and a passion for seniors, and most importantly in my mind -you’ve got to have leadership capabilities. You’ve got to have a desire and a willingness and a competency to take a group of people that are functioning here and to move them forward and to get them here,” Boyer said.

Interviews for a new executive director will be underway soon and the process to review the candidates will take awhile. They don’t want to rush the process so there is currently no timeline for when a new executive director will step in.
