One of eight individuals charged after a long-term investigation that began in 2019 learned her fate in court.
Carmencita Ramos-Sims plead guilty in September to one count obstructing justice and one count attempted money laundering.
In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court she was sentenced by Judge Mark Fleegle to ten months in prison with two years optional post release control.
Authorities say the investigation began in 2019 when members of the Muskingum County/Zanesville City Joint Drug Unit found out about a group of individuals from Columbus who had moved to the Zanesville area with the intention to sell methamphetamine and fentanyl.
