MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- With the fall season coming soon, you can be sure to find and support your local businesses at the Blue Ribbon Farmer’s Market.
The market is held weekly on Saturday at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Jim Siegrist, a member of the family owned business, Siegrist Orchard, that’s been in his family since the early 20s stated that the best sellers for them are the apples and cider, and encourages people to purchase the peaches from the market now because they are going quickly.
“Right now we’re finishing up on peaches. This is the last week for them and then we’re getting right into the middle of the apple season,” Siegrist said.
B&B Produce was another vendor at the farmer’s market and member, Sharon Bauer, shared that there are other items other than fruits and vegetables sold at the market.
“I make all of the jams and sauces myself and I try to use local produce as much as possible. A lot of the stuff I’ve grown myself or I get it from Sigrest Orchard. So, I try not to use produce that I have to go buy at a Walmart or some place. I try to use all the locals,” Bauer said.
Other local businesses that will be in attendance are food trucks, crafting, home items, beauty products, jewelry and more. The Blue Ribbon Farmer’s Market will go on until October 31st every Saturday.
