(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau (FEIB) is seeking tips from the public regarding an intentionally set fire at a Fastenal store in Cambridge (Guernsey County).
The Cambridge Fire Department responded to 61605 Southgate Parkway at approximately 5:20 a.m. March 17, discovering two Fastenal company vehicles on fire. After reviewing evidence and conducting interviews, investigators have since determined the fire was set by an unidentified male suspect.
“This is where the public can really become an ally in our fight to hold the people who commit these crimes accountable,” said FEIB Chief Josh Hobbs. “Any tip we receive can end up being the vital piece of the puzzle we need to close a case, so we encourage anyone to come forward with whatever information they may have.”
The investigation is being conducted jointly by the State Fire Marshal’s office, and the Cambridge police and fire departments. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the fire.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the State Fire Marshal’s tip line at 800-589-2728, the Cambridge Police Department at 740-439-4431 or the Cambridge Fire Department at 740-432-3232.
