ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Zanesville Kiwanis Club is celebrated its 100th year of operation Wednesday.
The club meets every Wednesday of each week to discuss group matters. This past Wednesday the group added a celebration to their itinerary.
“March 19th, 1921 actually is the date. We do our meetings every Wednesday, so we thought we would celebrate on St. Patrick’s Day. It means so much to us, we’ve been here in Zanesville for a century and helping a lot of people in the community and children and families. It’s a big accomplishment for us,” President Debby Knaup told WHIZ.
The club expends most of its energy and resources helping those less advantaged in the area. They are thrilled to continue to help the city of Zanesville.
“This is the community that we live in and that we love and that we grow in. This is where our families are and our children are. Service groups like this help impact that, and help put a positive spin on everything that’s going on. If you can help somebody, why not? And if you can better your community, why not,” Knaup continued.
Anyone interested in joining the Kiwanis can do so by filling out an application on their Facebook page.
