Youth Football League Begins Renovations

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The East Tigers Youth Football League began a field renovation today off of Linden Avenue.

New league owner Asaad Sumani believes that the children active in the league will be enriched by nicer facilities. The Zanesville Jaycees helped with the initial renovation.

“Right now we have a couple companies coming down to help us out. Right now we’re tearing down some bleachers, replacing the shed, the roof on it, cleaning out the concessions stand and kinda getting ready to power wash, paint and being a new season for these kids… It was just nice to have. It’s a new league, new season, It was a rough 2020 for a lot of things, so it was just nice to take this over, do new things, and bring  a little bit of life.”, Sumani said of his vision for the facility.

The league was directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and had to alter its 2020 season. Sumani hopes that 2021 will be a much better year for the children.

“Season starts in August. We’re gonna open up registration most likely in the next week. You can get ahold of any of my board members, coaches, or myself on Facebook. Go to the East tigers page, ask to join, I’ll let you guys join. From there just send us a message, we’ll drop you off a form and it’s a $35 registration fee.”, Sumani continued.

The league is setting up a GoFundMe page to buy new bleachers:
